Nuhoud (1) Project

The Nuhoud (1) Project was designed to enhance the resilience of poor families in Gaza through a package of diverse services. The project targeted 182 families in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and included the following:

  • University Education Grants:This component targeted the children of families registered with the Ministry of Social Development who are enrolled in the three major universities in Gaza (Al-Azhar University, Al-Aqsa University, and the Islamic University), with consideration of the geographic distribution within Gaza. A total of 109 students benefited, receiving one-time educational grants and assistance in obtaining delayed university certificates due to accumulated fees, as well as full scholarships for completing their education until graduation.
  • Medical Supportive Devices for People with Disabilities:The project targeted people with disabilities from families registered with the Ministry of Social Development who were in need of supportive medical devices but could not afford them. A total of 20 individuals with disabilities received supportive devices, including electric wheelchairs, electric scooters, and various other medical aids.
  • Housing Intervention (Home Renovation):This component targeted the most vulnerable families registered with the Ministry of Social Development in need of home renovations. A total of 15 families were selected to receive home repairs to make their houses livable by providing essential living facilities such as kitchen and bathroom renovations.
