Strawberry Cultivation Project

The Strawberry Project is an investment project based on the idea of economic empowerment and its comprehensive approach. It is one of the pioneering agricultural projects that aimed to enhance pioneering agriculture among Palestinian farmers and provide the local market with a national product, as strawberry cultivation is one of the modern crops in the West Bank and the market depends on imports from within and from the Gaza Strip, especially since the agricultural areas in the West Bank did not exceed approximately 200 dunums planted with strawberries using the modern electronic hanging agriculture method and traditional ground agriculture.

In light of the Palestinian National Institution for Economic Empowerment's orientation towards empowering entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector, and advancing and developing the agricultural sector, and through the studies conducted by the Investment Department team, it was found that the project is economically feasible. Especially the cultivation of hanging strawberries.

Also, during the study and research processes, we communicated with most of the strawberry farmers in Tulkarm, Jenin and Tubas, and the choice fell on the current partner in the Jenin area, who is one of the best farmers in terms of experience, knowledge and marketing of the product, as well as in terms of the quantity of production, he (exceeds his counterparts among strawberry farmers), so that his data recorded a record number in the quantity of production per dunum as well as marketing using different technical methods and with a return on investment of about 20%.
