The Badera project was the first to be launched by the Palestinian National Institution for Economic Empowerment on the ground. The project was designed based on the field experiences that were accumulated in the Economic Empowerment Program (DEEP), and the methodologies were built in line with the institution’s strategies and empowerment paths. Furthermore, the project was created with a view of targeting a diverse group of beneficiaries including crafty and entrepreneurial youth as well as beneficiaries under the Ministry of Social Development via providing Islamic Loans (mainly through good loans), in addition to providing business development, incubation and general follow up and guidance services.
This project aims to enable young entrepreneurs and low-income youth to build income-generating projects through a capacity building program. The program provided the participants with specialized training and project training step by step, in addition to supporting 15 initiatives with zero-interest refundable loans with a ceiling of approximately $10,000 for each project.
